There are several Ladybug characters that have made their comic book debut in recent years, including actress Nicole Kidman. In the new “Cat Girl” series created by Greg Berlanti and writer Stephanie Meyer, Ladybug is an orphan whose unusual biological make up makes her capable of flight, telekinesis, and has magical powers similar to those of a moth. She lives in a sheltered area of Paris with her younger sister, Sahara. She dreams of someday being a fashion designer and has a dream crush on a boy she barely knows.
However, she has a secret even more unique than her magical powers – she’s a bi-polar who suffers from bipolar disorder. She wears a pink and silver costume that have silver flecks in it. She also has black hair, green eyes, and white eyebrows. She also has these odd powers because she was bitten by a radioactive scorpion as a child, which left her with a silver vest that gave her these powers. Now that she’s a grown-up, she now wants to use her powers for good, and she hopes to use them to fight crime and stop villains in order to live a “normal” life.
She’s part of the “New Earth” contingent of the comic book universe. She’s also part of the “New Teen” line of characters as well, although her comic book history spans only a small portion of time. She’s part of a team of young heroes that includes Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire), Batgirl (Anne Hathaway), Wonder Woman (Megumi Matsuzawa), Supergirl (Kara Lee), Aquaman (buoyant swimmer Nic Cage), and Green Lantern (Dane Rice). Other members of this team include The Question (Eliott Carver), The Martian Hunter (ISAchard Waters), The X-Men’s Cyclops (Patrick Stewart), The Hulk (cox), and many others. Ladybug is part of the stable of characters that started out on the television show “DC Universe: Stargate” as well, but she wasn’t a main character until the recent “New Teenagers” series brought her back into the limelight.
