Ladybug Update – An Insect’s View on a Ladybug Garden

It’s that time of year again – the time when bugs come out in force and ladybugs, their cousins, emerge to defend themselves with their deadly attack. The timing couldn’t be more opportune: this is the time for the annual Ladybug Update. If you have a ladybug or if you want to add ladybug-related items and decorations to your garden this year, then the timing is perfect! It’s ladybug season! And what better way to celebrate it than to do it with ladybug-themed gifts, decorations and favors.

The “Ladybug” term is not a new one, but it is certainly a lovely word to celebrate the season. This colorful, sweet and beguiling creature has been enjoying her residence in our gardens since 1774, and was chosen for our Valentine’s Day by the poet WH Audlin. It seems that ladybugs don’t even need flowers to survive, but just about everything else they come into contact with is enough to make them happy. If you’ve ever seen a garden with a “bed of roses,” that was a ladybug attracted by the fragrant scent of the roses!

So it’s ladybug time once again, and what better way to celebrate than to do it with ladybug-themed gifts, plants and accessories? The popular “bag of ladybug” is a staple gift for ladybugs fans everywhere. And for those who are worried about bringing home an actual live ladybug (which is very rare), you can use a plastic version instead. But really, the true bug lover is going to go with the gift that represents the true meaning of ladybug culture – a wonderful ladybug feeder that will keep her happy long after the garden is safely ensconced. Ladybug feeders come in a wide variety of styles and materials, including but not limited to: terracotta, ceramic, terracotta clay, natural stone, glass, wood, ceramic, wood, terracotta clay, metal, ceramic, wood, bamboo, etc.

The good news is that it’s not just gardeners and insects that need a ladybug update. While we’re on the topic, if you have any knowledge about bugs and arthropods of any kind (fly, bedbugs, scorpions, spiders, etc. ), you’ll be able to use the information here to create a lovely ladybug display around your home. Just remember to wear protective clothing when doing this. Ladybugs don’t tend to sting unless they are disturbed or faced with an immediate danger, so you’ll need to use a strong insect repellant.

And speaking of bug spray, don’t forget that ladybugs are also at home being attacked by more dangerous insects and arthropods. If you really want to get serious, ladybug feeders are a great alternative to traditional insecticides. Ladybugs enjoy the sweet and tasty nectar of many different flowers, which is why they’re the only insect that naturally makes this type of food. Ladybug feeders offer you the opportunity to provide the food that your ladybug colony needs without the dangers of pesticides. And once you’ve got the ladybugs under your wing, there’s no telling how much work you’ll be able to do!

And finally, don’t forget that ladybug control is an ongoing affair. Ladybugs are a highly susceptible species to the most common insecticides available, so there’s really no reason to think that you can’t control them any more than you can any other pest. Just remember to check the label on your insecticides; some will actually affect ladybugs differently than they will other insects. And always remember to follow safe handling procedures when applying any type of insecticide to your ladybug colony. Once you understand the basics, you can handle any situation with confidence.
