Zombizou – A Zombie Version of Ladybug

ladybug zombizou

Zombizou is the akumatized version of Marinette’s homeroom teacher, Miss Bustier. She is upset that Chloe ruined her gift for her, so she sets out to destroy it. She is a very egotistic and ungrateful person, and she takes her helpfulness for granted. She has a big duck lip, and is extremely unnerving to look at.

She also is very mean to Japanese girl Kagami Tsurugi, and her sexism towards women and Asians are quite offensive. She even tries to make fun of Ladybug for being a hero, and claims that she could have stopped Stormy Weather’s almost world-ending attack much faster than Ladybug did.

Her name is a portmanteau of “Zombie” and “Bizou”, the French word for “kiss”. She uses her powers to turn citizens into zombies that spread love throughout Paris.

In the beginning of the episode, she attempts to get the students to kiss each other as a way to spread her power, which is essentially an Emotion Bomb. This causes the class to lose their minds, and slowly dwindle as they are infected one by one, until only Marinette remains unscathed.

While she does a good job of luring Zombizou out in the open, her bait-and-switch tactics work against her, as it is Ms. Bustier who steps in to stop the akuma before it can get to her student, so she becomes the target instead out of fear for her own safety.

As a result, she is the only non-brainwashed student in her class, which makes her a crucial character to save during the rest of the episode. In the end, she is able to pull some of the zombies off her, but is still infected by them at the end.

Her Sense of Humor: She is always laughing at herself, and her jokes are usually hilariously inappropriate. Her laugh is very similar to her friend Nadja’s, but it is a little more intense. She also has a tendency to laugh when she is happy, and when she is sad.

She is also very sarcastic, and her sarcasm can be pretty cruel at times. In fact, her laugh is often used to mock her classmates in the show’s parodies of popular zombie apocalypse tropes.

This is a good example of how Miraculous Ladybug has used these tropes to its advantage, and it really adds to the overall sense of comedy in this show. It’s a great way to have a lighthearted satirical take on some of these common tropes without taking the story too seriously.

Her Characterisation:

She can be a bit of an alpha bitch, but she has been getting better since season 3 started. She has been changing from being mean to becoming a bit more caring, and she even helped Ladybug defeat Malediktator as Queen Bee! She has also shown that she has changed her mind when she tried to akumatize her teacher, and that she will try to change her ways in the future.
